INTRODUCING TO SARC



Social Action for Rural Community (SARC) is a  non-profit, non-political, non-religious, philanthropic & charitable organization working for upliftment of vulnerable section of the society  towards their inclusive education and awareness,health and family welfare, livelihood promotion, agriculture & NRM, Environment and Ecology, Participatory Governance Road Safety Awareness Programme,  Promotion of  Vocational Training, Empowerment of women,  Research & Advocacy , Promotion of Sports & culture etc . So, it works both at grassroots community levels as well as policy advocacy levels to influence towards pro-poor government policies with bottom up need based approach ensuring human dignity and fundamental human rights as accepted globally in a sustainable manner. Social Action for Rural Community (SARC) is a grassroots level voluntary organization, registered in the year 1999 in the District of Sambalpur for socio-economic development of tribal & rural people with some likeminded social activists, educationalists and environmentalist of the region. Within a span of 22 years, we have spread our services to more than four lakh population covering 452 villages of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Deogarh District in Odisha.

SARC dedicates itself as a facilitating institution towards building up a self-reliant and balanced society through facilitation of participatory action & research, capacity building, networking, alliance building and advocacy initiatives both at grassroots & broader level to attain social transformation.

SARC envisages a society where the poor, marginalized & under privileged have equal opportunity to access & ensure their involvement in health, education, environment and other social development process which is value based and suitable and also have an appropriate environment to develop their fullest potential with scientific outlook thereby promote a healthy society.



OUR AIM

Working towards development of downtrodden & underprivileged in the western belt of Odisha, India by promoting & undertaking action & research, advocacy, training and networking with absolute participation of the target communities. Establishing a resource-cum-support base (structure) in the western Odisha, India exclusively on development by initiating close & consistent link & collaboration between cross-section of society, institutions for advocacy of issues affecting lives & livelihoods of target community at appropriate level seeking enduring solution for reduction of poverty & socio-economic challenges.
